A Look into the Acadia's Past

Based on a car-like platform, the GMC Acadia debuted in 2007 as a large crossover utility vehicle that featured a fully independent suspension and choice of front-wheel or all-wheel powertrains. Initially powering the 2007 Acadia was a 275HP, 3.6-liter V-6 engine, which harmonized with a six-speed automatic. Despite its large size, it still managed to deliver a respectable fuel economy and was a favored choice among its consumer base. Throughout its first generation, it received revised styling cues, performance modifications, interior alterations and more. One of its most significant points in history as well was its second-generation lineup debut in 2016. The new Acadia had a reduced size, it was repositioned to mid-size status, had a reduced price and features more innovative features than ever before.
